Gaming Brought Me Back to Life

When you've got time to kill between movie schedules, and the videos to prove it, you later find yourself back to blogging about it.

Yeah I know it's been months since my last blog, but I'll probably focus on blogging about occasional travels mostly now; with an 8-5 job, I feel like a little bit of wanderlust can heal my already depleted energy.

Truer words have never been said...

I still get to read books though not as often as I should, since I get sleepy in the midst of it, but gaming is another way for me to escape reality,  especially if it's in VR.

I couldn't help myself like, who doesn't love dinosaurs? 'Cuz here I am excited for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that's coming out this June!

I can relate to Owen's "oh $h1t" face though...

I also got curios about playing The Lab, which had these multiple games, since I first saw it in a video advertising the first of VR gaming. (You can see the video in my previous game reviews..)

I tried the Archery one first since I'm a sucker for stuff like that, but damn couldn't I feel my right arm afterwards.

The last of the games were just filler for the gaming time I had left, but it was fun nonetheless. Wish I could have fun times like this more often though.

Gaming on Different Dimensions

With my last experience of virtual reality gaming, I couldn't help but find it a little... boring. Since I just sat there getting myself shaken and stirred like some cocktail drink, with no real interaction with the game. So when I saw that Lucky Chinatown had this latest gaming craze, I just had to try it out!

It just screams, "Try me!"

The first time I tried it, I played a one-player shooting game called Brookhaven. You first had to pick a location, your weapon of choice, and that's where the thrill begins!

No worries about zombies eating my brains here... ;D

Honestly, it wasn't really that terrifying, sure there were zombie-like creatures crawling towards you in a dark sewage system, but nothing really "jumpscare" worthy if you ask me. Which makes me laugh every time I remember this lady who actually screamed out loud in the middle of the mall while playing the same game.

Since my first try seemed a little lackluster, I decided to play again. This time with my cousin for a change, since if it wasn't fun playing alone, then I guess it would be more fun with a 2nd player.

Getting ready for some action! XD

There were only 2 multi-player games at that time, and the game coordinator suggested the one for beginners. I went with that since it's my cousin's first time ever playing any sort of VR game.

Lo and behold, it turned out my cousin beat me for the high score. Though in my defense, she got a 2nd gun while I had only 1, so we weren't exactly on even ground. I also found out that VR gaming is actually fun to play with a 2nd player, maybe next time when I get to drag my cousin into playing again.

Taking Gaming To Another Experience

With the recent conclusion of a trilogy in my "Game Reviews" section, I decided to take it up a notch with a whole new blog experience! In my immersion, I'm here to introduce Roc On Sky's 9D VR Experience!

New Exhibit!

It's now open here at the 3rd Floor of Lucky Chinatown Mall, and take note, they have an ongoing promo! I don't know till when they'll be here, so you gotta check it out as soon as you can!

If the price is right...

As for me, I've already tried 8 of the 9D experience so far, and they range from 2-10 minutes depending on the specific "game" you choose. Some were downright boring, others cool, and only a couple were really awesome.

Personally reviewing my 8 VR experiences, I'd say the Eagle Simulation was the best! It made you really feel like you were flying around this snowy landscape! I think I got it on video here alongside the Dark Roller Coaster one which comes second best.

It wasn't really that "dark" though...

The third best would be Evil Abyss a.k.a. The House from Hell, though I don't think it was really all that scary but kudos to the storyline.

Not much "jumpscares" here...

Fourth would be the Racing game since I've got a soft spot for those kinds of genres, plus it was futuristic and really immersive!

Got a lot to choose from!

With that said, I guess the Pyramid of the Abyss comes fifth since it was close to that kind of type too.

Mind the spikes!

The sixth one would be this Vampire game which would have had potential had it been in 1st person, but it ended up like some kind of short animation.

The last two was like your ordinary amusement park ride with the Dinosaur Roller Coaster being a disappointment for me, since I personally think the Universal Studios' Jurassic Rapids provided more entertainment than this. And don't get me started on the 360 Ride! It just gave me a headache!

No words can express...

But in the end, let's face it, the whole experience was new and fun for me so I guess the day wasn't all gloom and doom. Maybe you should give the 9D VR Experience a try too!
