How to Train A Tiger in The Middle of the Pacific Ocean

I was asking myself that same question when I came upon this movie. I mean being stranded in the Pacific alone is tough enough already right? But think about being stranded with a Bengal Tiger... in the middle of the Pacific Ocean...? I know right, it's just nuts!

So the story starts with Pi as a kid and his life in India, here we see he's a very intelligent boy with a thirst for knowledge and who's also curious about the things that are unknown. Fast forward to him being a teen who's about to migrate to Canada, since his father decided to leave the zoo that they owned back in India and start anew. So all is normal in Pi's life, the zoo animals will be sold somewhere in Northern America and they'll have enough for a new life there in Canada, however tragedy strikes when their cargo ship encounters a thunder storm in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Pi is distraught to find out that he is the only one who survives the sinking and to make matters worst, he finds out he is also stuck with their zoo's tiger, Richard Parker! So this, my friends, is how Pi's 227 day journey began. In a lifeboat, out in the middle of the Pacific, stuck with a Bengal Tiger.

I do hope the trailer interested you, it sure interested me and got me watching it on the big screen! However I'd like to point out that the first part of the movie was kinda all talk and no adventure yet since we're given a flashback of how Pi's life was like when he was a kid, here we see how his growing up years turned him into a really religious person with three religions. Yes, three religions, believe me! I think the deep faith that he has also helped him get through this life-changing aspect of his life. In the end, the film proved to be full of one's spirituality and the will to survive, also add Richard Parker and you wouldn't be left bored to death in that lifeboat!

Here I am again, on the second day of regular classes... Boy do I miss my two week vacation, where did it all go anyway??? Well, I can't do anything about it now, gotta study, study and study more. Now that I remember, Midterms are  going to be held next week! Gosh! No wonder my professors seem busier than usual... Ugh! Now I REALLY have to study more, more, more! Someone help me! I NEED brain juice!!! Must have something... *gets hit in the head by something... cold?* What the?! Who threw that?! This thing should be.... wait... this is....!!!

Brown Never Tasted This Good!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you're all doing fine this morning and not spending time at the hospital because of a minor "casualty" (...if losing a finger is considered minor anyway...). So let's not talk about blood and gore any further since today we will focus on FOOD! Yes food, you heard right, boy has it been that long since I blogged about my fave foods? You guys must think I'm being starved by my mom huh? Well no worries, I'll try blogging every Tuesday about my "very" healthy eating lifestyle! Can you guess what fave food I'm going to share with you today?

Yum, yum, yum! Delicioso! Out of all the brownies out there, I think this is the best Walnut Swirl flavored brownie I have ever tasted! (not that I've gone out of my way to taste "other" Walnut Swirls though.... :P) Still, when I say delicious, I mean DELICIOUS! Here, try some!

Superficiality Equates to Happiness? When did That Happen?!

'Tis the season to be jolly and boy do I hope it's not just because of the gifts! So let's stop and think what Christmas really is all about, and since it's my "recent happenings" blog day, I'll be taking this chance to point out a few things about my first Christmas blogging experience. If you're wondering how that Christmas Tree can still stand amidst the rainy season, well the materials that were used for the lanterns aren't exactly "paper-like", they're waterproof and I know cause I poked the thing while it was still standing! Of course Christmas isn't only seen at the mall, it's almost everywhere, here's my college's Christmas Tree:

In the end, it seems like Christmas is all about the superficial stuffs and commercialism, I mean isn't Christmas about Christ being born? (don't worry about me going all religious here, I'm just stating my opinion, it is my blog right?) So yeah, maybe we need to just stop and think, think really hard and realize how lucky and blessed we are to have a roof above our heads and a decent meal to celebrate this season while there are some less fortunate people out there.

So "kids", stop crying since you didn't get the latest "in" gadget of the year or whatever, this is a season to be jolly after all, and it should also be a season of giving. Happy Holidays everyone and Advance Happy New Year!!!

I'll be Dedicating this Frostbite to...

Hey, hey, hey guys! I know it's been a while since you last heard from me but still, it's better than nothing, so Happy Holidays! I just dropped by to share this movie I watched a few weeks ago, it's titled "Rise of the Guardians"

Never in my wildest dream... @.@

If you've watched the movie already, I'm sure you know it's about Jack Frost and the other "legends" we've heard of as kids, if not well here's a short synopsis that I hope will keep you interested. The story starts with Jack Frost being reborn without a valid reason, and so Jack just goes off  having fun and making snow. 300 years later, we are taken to the North Pole where we see Santa Claus in his "Toy Factory". However, after seeing a bad omen, North soon calls upon the other "Guardians" in order to stop this coming disaster. Here, Jack Frost is confused why and how he became part of all this when all he's done is to bring fun and snow to kids. Is this really enough to fight against fear and darkness?

There you have it guys! A holiday treat from me, and even though this film isn't in the cinemas anymore, try looking for it in your local record bars. Trust me when I say it's a keeper in your personal movie collection and one more thing I learned from this movie, "Believing in yourself will help fight all those inner fears you have inside." Is it Healthy to be Always In Love?

Hey there guys! Good to hear from me after a long time right? Yeah well, school just started and everything's been busy-busy, but I'll be dedicating my time with you guys for today! Anyway, even if school started, I don't want to change anything in my blog sched, so if you've been reading my blog for some time now (before my mom invaded it with her "Christmas Gift Ideas"...), you probably wouldn't feel lost and out-of-place.

So Saturday, today we will be blogging some movie reviews! Yeah, I still have time to go to the cinemas while being busy-busy with all the school stuff, and here's what I got to watch recently: "24/7 in Love". For starters, this movie is filled with different plots and characters all interwoven into one film, so there are a lot of directors who collaborated here. 

Love is in the air people!!! <3

With that said, right now I'm planning on reviewing it per plot line, so wish me luck! Anyway, the movie starts with the question "What do you plan on doing on Dec.21,2012?" (you know, the "end-of-the-world" stuff...) This is where Jane (Kathryn Bernardo) decides to use this simple question as the basis of the video she plans to send to the "Billy Fernandez's Contest" in hopes of meeting Billy (Daniel Padilla) up close. As Jane goes about asking this one question, we get to see the many aspects of the different people she gets to interview, the first one we see is Virgie (Pokwang). What's a 40-year-old virgin gonna do when she meets a guy like Charles (Sam Milby)? Second up is Barbara, (Maja Salvador), who is hopelessly in love with her playboy boss Ken (Diether Ocampo), does he even feel the same for her? Love is put to the test in this story when Verna (Angelica Panganiban), goes to Vietnam to have some time to think, there she meets Elvis (John Lloyd Cruz), will it be love or an affair? Another crazy thing about love is when Belle (Bea Alonzo), falls for her gay bestfriend Butch (Zanjoe Marudo), can it be anymore complicated? Next we get a glimpse of puppy-love with Jomar (Zaijan Jaranilla), when he decides to pursue the girl of his dreams, Ayie (Xyriel Manabat), does first love truly last? Lastly we have workaholic Patty (Kim Chiu) having her past back to haunt her when she's forced to track down Alvin (Gerald Anderson) for her agency, is love really sweeter the second time around? In the end we've got a lot of questions about love, but one thing's for sure though, love is the best thing that a person can ever experience. (and I'm not only talking about the romantic kind...)

I guess that's it! If you want my personal inputs on the movie though, I'd say the first one was for comedic effect; the second one was just to get by; the third and fourth one were bitter-sweet, but realistic so I kinda prefer them. The next was kind of sweet when you consider friendship above all things first; and the last (but definitely not the least...) has a coming-of-age sort of effect. Oh, and the Jane-Billy (KathNiel) story was good in the way they stuck all the pieces of the film together; in the end, we all had fun being 24/7 in Love!
